Israel makes the headlines twice today and both news stories aren’t that flattering.
1) The country’s Defense Minister asks for Prime Minister Ehud Olmert to step down. This comes after American businessman Morris Talansky testified that he gave Olmert $150,000 in loans and direct payments over 14 or 15 years, some of which he believes was used on luxury items.
I don’t know about you but that’s not a good look for ANY government…especially one that claims to be so much more advanced and civil than its neighbors.
2) Police in Israel are investigating the burning of hundreds of New Testaments in a city near Tel Aviv, an incident that has alarmed advocates of religious freedom. Investigators plan to review photographs and footage showing “a fairly large” number of New Testaments being torched this month in the city of Or-Yehuda.
Once again…not cool. Since we are in the time period referred to as “the end of days” it’s not a surprise to me that this kind of attack on Christianity occured. Although the number of bibles burned was small…the message is huge!
