Second Dunk In WNBA History

Candace Parker’s dunk last night marked only the second time in WNBA history that a player has dunked during a game.

This isn’t really that thrilling of a slam so just enjoy the contrast between the network commentator’s reaction and the game announcer’s reaction. One guy obviously spent the large part of his adolescent life trying to grab the net.

“Not that thrilling of a slam” ?? I’m sorry that its only the SECOND in WNBA history, which has only been around since 1997. Perhaps if women have been playing for nearly 60 years, like men, they could have more exciting dunks. I think that Candice Parker should be celebrated for being the second woman in the WNBA to dunk without the mention of how uneventful it was.

    Well, Mz ATL….

If you recall…..or maybe you don’t…Candace Parker (featured above) won the 2004 McDonald’s All-American Dunk Contest in which she dunked a number of times, including one where she covered her eyes with her left arm while leaning in and dunking the ball with her right hand.

    That was thrilling.

I’m not expecting her to jump through hoops of fire…but anyone who follows basketball has seen better women’s dunks…even by Candace herself.

    Thanks.
