At first, I was a bit unnerved by the fact that Hancock was a drunk, homeless and angry black guy. Definitely not good for the first major black superhero.

As the movie progressed you got to know a bit more about who Hancock (played by Will Smith) actually was and where he came from…but…they don’t give enough background info at all. Remember the first Superman movie? It started with so much background on the guy.

Anyway….there’s a HUGE surprise that wasn’t in any of the previews. I won’t divulge much further, but it is a biggie. However, they also don’t provide enough background info on this surprise.

And why the hell did the guy have to go to jail man? stereotypes!!!

Overall, solid movie. I think if it was 3 hrs long it could’ve been great. Nonetheless, go see it. Catch it in the afternoon or something (discount prices).
